Things I Learned In March
Well, folks! It’s the end of March. Time to link up with Emily Freeman and share what we’ve learned this month.
- Our kitchen counter has an extremely handy outlet just below the ledge. We’ve lived here over a year. Is there an extra bedroom somewhere?
- If you tweet it, books will come. All this time on Social Media has really paid off. The Motherhood ran a giveaway on Twitter for Melanie Shankle’s new book The Antelope In The Living Room – AND I WON! Melanie Shankle blogs at TheBigMamaBlog.com and, y’all, she is hilarious. I love this woman. Antelope was her memoir on marriage and she’s also written a memoir of motherhood called Sparkly Green Earrings. Both come heartily recommended. (And they’re even more satisfying if you can win them on Twitter!)
- How to make French toast. Last Saturday Ben and I did nothing. Okay, we made French toast and cuddled our daughter and binge-watched The Office. It was fabulous. And I learned how to make French toast! Believe it or not (you probably won’t have a hard time believing) I’ve never made French toast before. Thanks Pinterest. Though we felt totally lazy, I was reminded of DA Carson’s quote about rest, “We are whole complicated beings: our physical existence is tied to our spiritual well-being, to our mental outlook, to our relationships with others, including our relationship with God. Sometimes the godliest thing you can do in the universe is get a good night’s sleep – not pray all night, but sleep.” (from Scandalous)
Hahaha! If you find that extra bedroom, I expect pictures!
Haha! I know, right? It’s amazing what can be hiding in plain sight!
Saturday was a binge-the-Office day for me, too! What season did you watch?
Congrats on the book win! So cool! 🙂
We’re (finally!) on season 9! Just two episodes left! I stopped watching regularly once Michael Scott left, I missed so much!!!!!!!
