Grateful for Insults
Reading in 1 Peter 4 today at THE Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Really struck by verse 4: If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
Did you catch it? When we are insulted for Christ, verbally persecuted, we should count ourselves blessed. Why? Because others saw enough Jesus in you to point it out.
Wow. Going to be marinating on this one for a while.
Lord,
May I not be afraid of proclaiming your name. May I be ever bold. When others insult me because of your great name, may I be thankful there is an abundance of your Spirit that they can see to insult.
-Amen
Hoping for the wisdom to know the difference.
