Emily Freeman writes about building a bench, rather than an author platform. Earlier this year I made a conscious, but not a formal or public, decision to make this space more about others than myself. Blogging has been more enjoyable with that intention in mind. Rather than thinking about what I want to say, I picture what I need to say. What will serve you – and, so, myself – best. When rubber meets the road, I want to help you more than myself.

Longtime followers of Victoria’s Ramblings will recognize Catherine from Catherine-30 And Beyond. Not only does she write, she’s a knockout crocheter! (Not sure if you can use the words “knockout” and “crocheter” in the same sentence, but I just did. So there.) I particularly love Catherine’s crocheted hats and plan to make a purchase as soon as the weather cools off and I can feebly envision my head covered in wool.

Kenneth Scott Harris, Author of The Perfect Tree

It is my great delight to know Kenny as a coworker and friend. He is a superior craftsman of the written word and I’ve learned so much from him. His first (real, live, traditionally published) book is called The Perfect Tree and it will keep you on your toes! (Ben even loved this novel, which is saying something for my avid non-fiction reader husband!) His second novel, Any Flavor Jellybeans But Black, is due out later this year. Local friends, try to catch Kenny at a book signing. He’s a true delight!

J. Rae, Author of There Once Was A King

J. Rae is no stranger to the blog, she wrote a wonderful guest post you can read here. She wrote a lovely children’s book called There Once Was A King. I’ve read it to Carson and it’s just charming, but impacting.
