A Polar Winter
There is no respite from the bleak midwinter. Snow pounds and wind howls, as if stuck in a vortex. Polar air creeps it’s fingers down towards far more temperate climates. Almost as if it wanted to watch Southern bumpkins buy out aisles of milk, bread, and eggs for kicks. Everyone feels for the mailman, forced by his credo to continue working despite the elements. Guests that warm the hearth are especially welcome, since no one dares venture outside but everyone suffers from cabin fever. Especially the little kids, who haven’t been to school in weeks and – at this rate – will be making up class until July. Go ahead and wear that second pair of socks, subzero temperatures will mock you; you can thaw in Spring.
