5 Things You Should Never Say To A Pregnant Lady
This month’s ‘5 Things That Fired Me Up‘ has been fondly renamed ‘5 Things You Should Never Say To A Pregnant Lady’. (DISCLAIMER: If you have ever said any of these things to me, or to any other pregnant lady, this is a no-judging zone. I promise. I do love you!)
—
1) I thought you were using birth control?
Not only is this question terribly invasive, it’s also a moot point.
2) Don’t you know what causes that?
Nope. We just kept picking out wallpaper and – BAM! – one day I got pregnant. Weird, right?
3) Are you sure you’re feeling okay?
Yes. If feeling utterly exhausted with crazy mood swings and a urge to vomit in the mornings is ‘feeling okay’ then, yes, I’m feeling pretty okay.
4) Was is an accident?
Nope. We were pretty intentional about picking out that wallpaper.
5) Your whole life is about to change.
Yes, thank you for that. Thanks a lot. I’m going to go eat some Ben & Jerry’s now.
Love,
Your local pregnant lady
May your walls be covered with all the wall paper God wills. Nice post…I think the five things will expand to stuff like: “why yes, I am hiding a watermelon under my dress”.
Thanks for reading Dad LOL
Congratulations! I think I’m going to be enjoying these posts 🙂
Thanks so much Sarah 🙂 Hope you enjoy the journey along with us!
Oh this made me laugh. And I cannot wait to see what you post the further along you get. Because, for me at least, nothing was more annoying than the “Wow you’re getting big!” comments and the uninvited rubbing the belly 🙂
I’ve gotten so feisty in these early weeks with people’s silliness, I can’t imagine what I’ll be like a few months from now! It’s like, “Yeah, great, thank you for pointing out I’m getting huge. Love ya. Thanks for that.” Hopefully I can just relegate my own comments to the blog 🙂 and not to people!
Hey there! I came across your blog from Kelli’s link up. 🙂
I absolutely love this post! I got married just this past March and ever since returning I’ve been peppered with questions of whether or not I’m pregnant… which are annoying mostly because even if I was I probably wouldn’t tell the asker first.
I can only imagine what things will be like when I’m in your shoes!
O goodness! lol I TOTALLY understand! People are so quick to move along your life for you, aren’t they? Congrats on your recent nuptials! Marriage is a fantastic blessing 🙂 We’re having a blast!
And I’m so glad you found me from Kelli’s linkup! (I have to tell you I totally geeked out over blogg-ness and squealed, “It worked!!!” to my husband) Looking forward to checking out your blog!
[…] Coffee Lady, I can’t even tell you how deeply I appreciated your words. Pregnant women are used to hearing so many words. Words of warning or caution, words that discredit what our bodies are capable of, words that pry […]
