Lately, I have been pleasantly surprised with some events that are unfolding in my life. Without going into too much detail, I felt compelled to jot a few lines about the joy of the LORD. It’s a heavenly thing.
Increasingly, I think that the true, deep, joyous feeling we get from basking in the presence of the Father, can be found in more places than we realize. Whatever wholesome thing that puts a smile on our face: the morning sunshine, a bird’s song, a kind word, a welcome compliment, a needed hug, sources from God.
Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that, “the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (ESV). In Philippians 4:7, Paul speaks of, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.” (ESV).
Today – in whatever makes you smile, laugh, or sigh with contentment – remember to thank your Heavenly Father, the wellspring of life and fountain of joy!
