Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving, all! I hope your day is filled with family, friends, turkey, cranberries, pumpkin pie (if you’re a fan!), and Norman Rockwell-esque bliss. But, mostly, I hope your day is filled with thankfulness.

And not just the cliche kind.

The deep, rooted thankfulness that comes from a life of contentment. A life of being filled, not with your own strength but in the strength of the Lord.

happy thanksgiving

I’m thankful for:

  • Christ’s sufficiency in my insufficiency.
  • Unmerited grace.
  • Undeserved mercy.
  • The authority and life-giving nature of Scripture.
  • A husband who looks a lot like Jesus.
  • His arms.
  • A daughter who I pray will look a lot like Jesus, too.
  • Her kicks.
  • Discipline, though painful.
  • Learning how to stay.
  • Deep rooted friendships.
  • Cozy, rainy days.
  • Fall colors.
  • Perfectly crafted lattes.
  • Sleepy Saturday mornings.
  • Baby shoes.
