The other week, a storm tore through our area. Nothing too severe, just your standard thunder, lighting, wind, and rain. When I was a little girl, and terrified of the power of nature, my mom would sing our special song during storms to the tune of “Love Lifted Me” it went:
God made the rain/ God made the rain/ Because he loved the animals/ God made the rain
Quaint, I know.
Driving home after the storm, I noticed that the sky was a brilliant blue, orange, and red. The sunset, truly, was amazing. Washed by the agitation of the storm, the heaves emerged from the test more beautiful than before.
Metaphoric storms in our own lives often display our true colors after they’ve passed. Hopefully, the storm has had a positive effect and, after testing, our colors will be more brilliant and pure than ever.
Psalm 26:2 “Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind.”
