In addition to being a blogger and social media networker, I have over three years’ experience in Internet marketing. My personality type is that of a nurturer, an encourager. And I see marketing as a form of encouragement – a way to uplift someone’s day by putting a needed product or service into their hands. That’s how I approach my role as a Virtual Assistant.

Creative Strategy Session
What do I mean by ‘creative strategy’? Here’s how this will work:
- You contact me and we’ll set up a time to chat.
- You’ll tell me what your business goals are and the particular ways you’re wanting me to help. (Trying to promote a new product? Want to launch a brand awareness campaign? Need ideas about what to post on social media?)
- Then, we’ll have a one hour phone call to talk all about your business. (During the course of our phone call, I promise my mind will be whirling with ideas for you!)
- Afterward, I’ll send a comprehensive email just bursting with creative marketing ideas.
- Feel free to email back and forth as much as you need to really make our brainstorming worth it.
- You put in to practice the ideas we created together!

Sitting in my academic registrar’s office, I had no idea how declaring ‘English Literature’ as my major and ‘Business Administration’ as my minor would change my life.
As my college followed a work-study model, I was able to gain related experience during my four years as an undergraduate. I also studied English abroad at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and gained an incredible amount of head and practical knowledge. (You can ask me about this experience anytime, I’ll gush your ear off!)
After graduation I worked for a short time as an Administrative Assistant, until I got a position with an Internet marketing agency. The three years I spent there were truly enriching! During my time at the marketing agency, I got the ‘online business bug’ and never looked back. I gained as much experience in social media marketing, content writing, and special projects as I could. The company I was fortunate enough to work for rewarded hard work, and work hard I did!
I married my husband in early 2013 and had every intention to climb the corporate ladder.
Until I took a pregnancy test with an unexpected positive result!
Having a baby early in marriage (and life, many would say) drastically shifted my goals and values. Suddenly working a sexy job and jetting off to conference after conference wasn’t for me.
When my daughter was about five months old I decided to cut back my hours to part-time so I could be home more with her.
And so began the road to becoming a momprenuer and online business owner.
After a year of trying to keep it together as a corporate boss lady and be a great mother, I realized something had to give. It was around this time I started listening to a new podcast called Brilliant Business Moms. Story after story of moms working a side hustle while loving their family well intrigued me. I thought, “If they can do it, well so can I!”
But what business could I start?
Why not leverage all the communication, and business, and marketing experience I had been cultivating over the past six years!?
I reached out to a few bloggers I had followed for a long time to pitch my services. Lo and behold, I started getting hired! I later learned that this work I was doing had a name ‘virtual assistant’. I embraced the title and didn’t look back.
Through lots of hard work and doing it scared, I’ve been able to work with some amazing bloggers and online business owners.
And as it turns out, I am now a proud member of the Brilliant Business Moms virtual team!
I always love talking shop with a fellow momprenuer, whether you’re in the market to hire a VA or not. (And if it turns out I’m not the VA for you, I will gladly put you in the capable hands of another. I’m a ‘strong women lift each other up’ kind of girl.)
This journey of loving my kiddos and (side) hustling hard has been a wild one, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
